Area Sales Manager UPS – UK


The role of the Area Sales Manager is to own the Customer base, build strong working relationship with existing and new clients on the Uninterruptible Power Supply business. You will be responsible for achieving all targets set relating to orders, sales, profitability, and strategic initiatives within your customer base. You will need to build a strong network with power partners, installers, contractors, equipment manufacturers (pumps producers, panels builders, etc). You will develop customer relationships within the area at all levels and lead very strong customer and prospect engagement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Defines markets, market potentials and appropriate sales strategies for the UK market. Partners with customers/distributors to plan strategies, provide quality service, and provide support necessary for attainment of customer’s goals and objectives.
  • Meet financial KPI’s set – focusing on orders, sales, margin, new customer acquisition and opportunity win rate.
  • Key customer relationships – Develop and hold, key customer relationships across your account portfolio in all channels, leverage these relationships to grow the business in offers.
  • Coordinates sales activities in region/district with other regions/districts and national account management to penetrate national accounts.
  • Forecasting – Attend and provide formal rolling forecast by quarter, formal monthly forecasting to the business and semi formal as required by Regional Director.
  • Gathering information about activity of competitors.
  • Providing organizational support and takes part at various events (exhibitions, presentations, conferences, meetings, negotiations, etc.).

Skills and attributes:

  •  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6-10 years of varied experience in sales, marketing, and product management. Relevant work experience and/or networks within the Electrical Industry are desirable. Strong influence and convincing skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Highly organized with good planning skills
  • Good general business sense and awareness of macro market trends
  • People management and leadership experience
  • An ambitious, active and customer centric approach
  • Fluent English with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills


  • General Business Degree or Equivalent work experience
  • Professional sales training
